We will also talk about how we use this tool to reduce household moisture / mould issues which can be a major issue, especially here in the UK during our long, cold damp winters!

What is a Window Vac?

Firstly, for those who don’t know… what is a window vac?

A window vac, short for window vacuum cleaner, is a specialized handheld device designed specifically for cleaning windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and other smooth surfaces effectively and efficiently. It combines the functionalities of a squeegee and a vacuum to remove dirt, water, and cleaning solution from surfaces, leaving them streak-free and sparkling clean.

Ease of Use 5/5

The Kärcher WV 1 is incredibly easy to use. There is one button to turn the vac on/off. My toddler loved using the Kärcher WV 1 to ‘help’ remove the condensation from the windows in our lounge every morning, so it can certainly be used by anyone!

Emptying the collected dirty water from the Kärcher WV 1 is also very easy. There is a rubber stopper that can easily be removed, enabling the tank to be emptied into a sink.

The charge lasts for around 25 mins which is sufficient for at least a whole weeks worth of intensive usage.

The Kärcher WV 1 Window Vacuum’s powerful suction provides quick and effective moisture and condensation removal from window surfaces (and any other smooth surface such as shower doors, tables, worktops, tiled floors, etc).

It has squeegee blade which effectively wipes liquid (and dirt) away. Then, it vacuums up the liquid to ensure there are no leftover streaks or smudges. It is easy to easily glide the window vac over the wet surface, and the powerful suction effortlessly extracts the condensation, leaving the surface mostly dry.

In our tests, the Kärcher WV 1 Window Vac is able to suck most of the liquid off the surface, but not all. It often takes several goes to remove all the moisture.

The Kärcher WV 1 Window Vac’s lightweight and ergonomic design makes it really easy to handle and maneuver across windows or smooth surfaces, allowing users to clean liquid and condensation from various angles and positions. It can be difficult to use in tight areas and we did struggle to use the Kärcher WV 1 were we needed to maneuver the tool in tight spots in a small bathroom.

The WV1 is cordless so offers freedom of movement and easy access to different areas without the restriction of a power cord, enhancing convenience during cleaning tasks.

Versatility 5/5

Beyond windows, the Kärcher WV 1 Window Vac can efficiently remove condensation from various smooth surfaces such as mirrors, tiles, tiled floors, shower screens, etc. Anything that is smooth and could hold moisture can effectively be cleaned using the WV1,

The Kärcher WV 1 Window Vac is also quick and efficient, reducing the manual condensation removal process (with a dripping wet cloth, leaving streaks and drips all over your floor…), significantly reducing the time and effort required.

Performance – Test Results 4/5

The Kärcher WV 1 Window Vac does an outstanding job of providing streak-free, liquid-free windows and surfaces after removing condensation, eliminating the need for additional drying or wiping.

As mentioned previously the Kärcher WV 1 Window Vac is sometimes unable to removal all the water off the surface in one go – it can takes several goes to remove all the moisture. This is not a major issue.

The WV 1’s rechargeable battery is impressive and offers around 25 minutes of cordless charge time. This is sufficient charge for at least a weeks worth of moisture removal. In our tests, we used it daily on all windows and bathroom mirrors / shower screens in our homes and the battery remained charged throughout and only needed recharging (indicated by a flashing light) after using intensively for 7 consecutive days.
